Welcome to AssigNo ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website assigno.site and use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a. Personal Information

• Name and email address (provided during registration)
• Profile information (bio, age, avatar/profile picture, portfolio URLs)
• Phone number and UPI ID (required for doers to receive payments)
• Bank account number and IFSC code (optional, for doers to receive payments)
• Payment transaction details (Razorpay order IDs, payment IDs, and payment status are stored; we do not store your card or bank login details)
• Location data (latitude and longitude, only if you choose to share it via the "Capture Location" feature for distance-based task matching)

b. User-Generated Content

• Task details (titles, descriptions, subjects, deadlines, and pricing you post)
• Task attachments and files uploaded by posters
• Chat messages and file attachments exchanged between posters and doers
• Work submission files and final deliverable files (stored securely in our cloud storage)
• Offers submitted by doers (including offer messages)
• Reviews and ratings submitted about other users
• Dispute information and supporting details
• Feedback and ratings submitted through the platform

c. AI Assistant Interactions

• Messages you send to our AI assistant (Indy) are processed by Google Gemini API to generate responses. These conversations are not stored permanently on our servers.

d. Automatically Collected Information

• Session cookies necessary for authentication (to keep you logged in). See Section 11 for more details.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We believe in transparency. The following types of data are not collected by AssigNo:

• No analytics or tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party analytics or tracking tools.
• No device or browser fingerprinting: We do not collect your browser type, device model, screen resolution, or any fingerprinting data.
• No browsing behavior tracking: We do not track which pages you visit, how long you spend on them, or your click patterns.
• No IP address logging: We do not store your IP address in our database.
• No advertising data: We do not run ads and do not share your data with any advertising networks.
• No search history: Your task searches and filters are not logged or stored.
• No local storage: We do not store data in your browser's local storage or session storage.
• No third-party marketing cookies: We only use essential cookies for authentication (see Section 11).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate task posting, offering, and completion
• Enable real-time communication between posters and doers
• Process payments securely through Razorpay (online) and Cash on Delivery
• Facilitate payment transfers to doers via UPI or bank transfer
• Store and deliver work submission and final deliverable files
• Display reviews and ratings to build trust between users
• Send notifications about task updates, messages, and platform activity
• Provide customer support via our AI assistant (Indy) and email
• Resolve disputes between posters and doers
• Calculate distance between users for task matching (using location data, if shared)
• Prevent fraud and ensure platform security

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information in the following ways:

• Between Users: Your name, profile bio, and reviews are visible to other users on the platform. Task details are visible to all logged-in users.
• Chat Messages: Messages are shared only between the poster and the assigned doer for a specific task.
• Payment Information: Your UPI ID and phone number are shared with our admin team solely for the purpose of transferring payments. These details are never shared with other users.
• Service Providers: We share data with third-party services as described in Section 6 below, solely to operate and improve the platform.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth: For secure sign-in authentication. Google may collect information as described in their Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini API: Powers our AI assistant (Indy). Your messages to Indy are sent to Google's servers for processing. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: For database, authentication, file storage, and real-time messaging services. Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers.
• Razorpay: For payment processing. Razorpay handles all payment data securely. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: For hosting our website. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

7. File Uploads and Storage

Files may be uploaded at multiple stages: posters can attach files when creating a task, doers upload work submission previews, and doers can upload final deliverable files after payment. Chat messages may also include file attachments. All files are stored securely in our cloud storage (powered by Supabase Storage). These files are accessible only to the poster and doer associated with the task, and to platform administrators. Uploaded files are retained as long as the associated task exists. We do not scan or analyze the contents of uploaded files beyond what is necessary for platform operation.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. All data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections. Authentication is managed through industry-standard protocols. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Chat messages, uploaded files, reviews, and task data are retained for the duration of your account. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email address listed below.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
• Object to the processing of your personal data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

11. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function. Specifically:

• Authentication session cookies: These keep you logged in as you navigate the site. They are set by our authentication provider (Supabase) and contain session tokens.

We do not use:

• Analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics)
• Advertising or marketing cookies
• Third-party tracking cookies
• Preference or personalization cookies

Since we only use strictly necessary cookies, no cookie consent banner is required. Disabling cookies in your browser will prevent you from logging in to the platform.

12. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for college students and individuals aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 16, please contact us immediately.
